At the University of Pennsylvania, Rebecca Moore studies sleep and circadian rhythms. She earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the City College of New York Honors Program, where she conducted research on the immune system in fruit flies, was named a Colin Powell fellow and Salk fellow and coordinated a peer mentorship program to support first-year students. Moore went on to complete her Ph.D. in molecular biology at Princeton, where she received the Weintraub Award for her thesis and made major contributions to understanding how learning can be inherited across generations in C. elegans. A dedicated mentor and advocate for students, Moore plans to pursue an independent research program after completing her postdoctoral research. Outside the lab, she enjoys exploring new places, watching sports and spending time with her family. Originally from New York City, she now lives in Philadelphia with her partner and two cats.
