Karina Alventosa is a multidisciplinary engineer and sustainability professional. At Cority Software, she is helping to build a carbon accounting platform and assist corporate entities with their decarbonization journeys. She is passionate about green building and infrastructure, is a LEED accredited professional (BD+C) and holds the CFA Institute Sustainable Investing Certificate. The focus of her Ph.D. research at Princeton was the chemical design and development of sustainable fire-resistant cement made from metakaolin (calcined kaolin clay) to minimize carbon dioxide emissions. During her time at Princeton, Alventosa was president of the Graduate Student Government and worked to increase student involvement with the Princeton administration as well as provide opportunities for students to volunteer and form community. She served as the graduate student representative on the Lake Campus Design Committee and worked on a variety of sustainability initiatives on campus, such as Farmers Market planning and sustainable events development. She is the current Reunions chair for the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni.
