Andrew Hsieh is an engineer and entrepreneur at the intersection of clean energy and industrial innovation and a respected leader in hard technology commercialization. As founding CEO of Liminal Insights, a Princeton University spin-out, he invented and brought to market a breakthrough ultrasound-based inspection technology that is transforming battery manufacturing quality control, with the goal of helping accelerate the global EV transition. Under his leadership, Liminal secured nearly $40 million in venture capital investment in addition to nearly $8 million in grant funding from the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy and California Energy Commission and has deployed products in major battery factories globally. Hsieh is an alumnus and board member of Activate Global, a fellowship program that trains the next generation of science entrepreneurs. He holds a Ph.D. in chemical and materials engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. from UCLA.
