Chad Maisel served in the White House for all four years of the Biden-Harris administration, most recently as special assistant to the president at the Domestic Policy Council (DPC). At the White House, Maisel led the DPC’s work on housing supply, housing affordability and homelessness, as well as a wide-ranging portfolio focused on narrowing the racial wealth gap. He also designed and implemented new initiatives to protect consumers, including a cross-agency effort to crack down on unfair practices that waste Americans’ time and money. Prior to joining the Biden-Harris administration, Maisel served as the chief economic policy advisor to Sen. Cory Booker, advising on tax, labor, banking, competition and small business policy. He served in the Obama-Biden administration for more than five years, focused on issues relating to child poverty and rural economic development, concluding in 2017 as a senior policy adviser at the White House National Economic Council. Maisel received a master’s of public administration from the School of Public and International Affairs and a bachelor’s degree from Emory University.
