H. Vincent Poor is the Michael Henry Strater University Professor in Princeton’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where his interests include wireless networks, energy systems and related fields. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer sciences from Princeton and joined the Princeton faculty in 1990, after beginning his academic career at the University of Illinois. From 2006 to 2016, he served as the dean of Princeton’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, and he has also held visiting positions at several other institutions, including most recently at the University of California-Berkeley and Caltech. Poor is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and he is a foreign member of the Royal Society and other national and international academies. Other recognition of his work includes the IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal and honorary doctorates from a number of universities in Asia, Europe and North America.
