Kidus Asfaw is the founder and CEO of Kubik, a company that turns hard-to-recycle plastic waste into low-carbon building materials across Africa. In 2023, he was named one of the “TIME100 Most Influential Climate Leaders” for his work at the intersection of climate, housing and dignity. Before starting Kubik, Asfaw led innovation initiatives at Google and UNICEF, focusing on access to education, healthcare and technology. At Kubik, he is building a new model of infrastructure that creates jobs, empowers women waste collectors and provides better housing solutions. His journey is rooted in the belief that dignity is something we build through purpose, discipline and design.
