Matt Smith

Passionate, Connected, Problem-Solver

Communications Specialist, Housing and Real Estate Services, Princeton University

Matt Smith is more than a tour guide — he transports you to the history that played out right beneath your feet at a key moment in the American Revolution. Combining the expertise of a trained historian and the flair of a seasoned storyteller, Smith makes Princeton’s past come alive and transforms the everyday sights of campus into rich stories of wartime sacrifice and, ultimately, victory. When he’s not leading tours, Smith serves as the communications specialist in Housing and Real Estate Services at Princeton. Prior to this, he was an artist licensed by the trustees to document campus scenery and landscapes. Smith holds master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee, Princeton Theological Seminary and Lee University. Some know him best, however, as the designer of the 3,000-piece Lego Nassau Hall.
