Michelle Buck is clinical professor of executive education at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where she served as the first director of leadership initiatives. For more than 30 years, she has used her Ph.D. in social psychology from Princeton to empower global leaders to maximize their impact and make a positive difference in the world. Buck’s courses focus on the role of self-awareness of values, identity and purpose as foundations of leadership effectiveness; how leaders engage, inspire and set others up for success; and how to transform conflict into opportunity. She previously won teaching awards at Washington University and McGill University. Published in academic journals as well as Fast Company, The Hill and Psychology Today, she is working on a book proposal on courageous conversations to address critical issues in the workplace and the world. Known for creating a safe environment for leaders’ deep self-reflection and growth, Buck uses experiential learning leveraging photography, Afro-Caribbean percussion and Argentine tango to engage global executives in translating academic lessons into impact in their work.
