Department of Anthropology
Nikita Taniparti is a third-year graduate student in the Department of Anthropology at Princeton. Prior to this, she spent a decade as an economist, working with governments and institutions around the world on how to promote economic growth and development. She has worked in India, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Australia, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Namibia and Azerbaijan. She is broadly interested in understanding how growth and economic development are interacting with current global decarbonization efforts. Her current research is focused on Namibia’s industrial development and energy transition. She received her B.A. in economics from the University of Notre Dame and her master in public administration/international development from Harvard University. At Princeton, she is a University Writing Center fellow, sits on the Graduate School’s subcommittee on policy and is on the board of trustees of the U-Store. She is a yoga teacher, experimenter in the kitchen and an aspiring plant parent.
