Soyeon Lippman is a tuberculosis program clinical manager and science liaison at the Washington State Department of Health (WADOH). She received her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton, then conducted postdoctoral research in genome sciences at the University of Washington. In 2013, inspired by her studies in the interface between science and public policy in antimicrobial resistance while at Princeton, she joined WADOH in communicable disease epidemiology. During her 12 years in public health, Lippman has worked in areas including influenza surveillance, tribal epidemiology, foodborne illnesses, public health laboratory testing and pandemic response. While in public service, she earned master’s degrees in public health and in public policy and evaluation at the University of Washington.
