Steven Petric is Assistant Dean for Global Outreach, Admissions and Alumni Engagement at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA). He returned to SPIA from a role with the United Nations, most recently serving in Bangladesh in response to the Rohingya crisis. Steven’s career spans the public, private, and academic sectors, with a focus on strategy, partnerships, and impact. He spent three years in the private sector in New York and London before transitioning to leadership roles with community-based organizations, nonprofits, and the United Nations, where he managed complex initiatives in high-risk environments. His public sector experience includes work across several U.S. states and internationally in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Notably, he spent four years in Iraq and Afghanistan, directing multi-governorate programs in some of the world’s most challenging contexts. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University, where he was a member of the men’s varsity swimming team; a Master of Arts from the University of Essex (UK); and a Master in Public Policy from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs.
